About Us

The beginning:

The Green Tree Gallery was created by sculptor, Julie Janvrin and Painter, Jules Middleton in 2008. Friends for over 15 years, they spent many of them talking about setting up their own gallery before finally one day, deciding to actually do it.   

The Gallery:

The Green Tree Gallery is based in a barn, in the beautiful surroundings of Borde Hill Garden, in Mid Sussex. Sandwiched as it is between Brighton and London, both well known centres for the arts they feel the Gallery fills a void in the Mid Sussex Area.

The gallery offers its visitors a warm and friendly atmosphere in a stylish and contemporary setting and features a wide range of affordable arts and crafts from both local artists and those further afield.

Artwork:

The pieces in the Gallery range from unusual hand-made greetings cards to vibrant canvases depicting abstract landscapes; from ‘touchable’ raku fired figurative sculptures to delicate silver jewellery; from the beautiful colours of stained glass to hand-hewn wooden bowls… and so much more.  Each piece is selected by one of the partners to maintain a high standard of work and an interesting range of items. The work is reviewed regularly to ensure that whenever you visit you will be sure to find something new and exciting to see.
